Online Marketing for your Business – Competing in the Digital Age

Like you, consultant, speaker, and entrepreneur Nick Choat has witnessed the dramatic evolution of technology that continues to challenge conventional business wisdom. Are traditional marketing tactics still effective? How do small businesses stay relevant to younger generations? How should you as a small business owner invest in technology in order to stay current and relevant? All businesses today, however big or small, struggle with these challenges. Very much like big companies, small businesses that embrace these challenges will flourish, and those that choose to ignore will perish.
Nick has over three decades of professional experience starting as a software developer and evolving to become a digital strategist. He has held executive positions with highly respected brands such as The Walt Disney Company, Ernst & Young, the Boeing Company, and VeriSign. He is currently the CEO and owner of Sport Clips Haircuts, leading the expansion of the brand throughout southwest Florida. While on the surface the haircutting industry may not appear to be a “high tech” business, Nick has developed some innovative approaches that use technologies to help acquire and retain clients. He describes these approaches as running his business through social networks.
His Station 2 discussion will focus on how you as a small business owner can utilize digital technologies to grow your business. Drawing on real examples from his own business (both good and bad), he will discuss the learning that comes from fully integrating online technologies into your business, and, most importantly, ideas on how you can get started. His objective with this discussion is to convince you of the importance of embracing these new approaches, and hopefully, to encourage you to commit to take the first steps in that direction.
