Cyber Security for Us All

Entrepreneurs and startups generally believe they are immune from possible cyber-attacks. They may have fewer resources available to identify and combat cyber threats, making them easy targets. Simple cyber security hygiene steps based on the guidance of the Council on Cybersecurity’s Critical Security Controls can provide significant benefits against every level of cyber-attacks and Bad Guys.
Kelli K Tarala (Twitter: @KelliTarala) is a principal consultant and co-owner of Enclave Security. Her career began in 1994 as a system administrator and technical editor at a pharmaceutical research organization, after studies at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin Madison.
With multiple professional certifications, Kelli Tarala is a security architect and project manager specializing in information assurance policies, governance, and cyber risk strategies. She is a SANS Institute courseware co-author for MGT415: A Practical Introduction to Risk Management Class and SEC566 Implementing and Auditing the Critical Security Controls – In-Depth. In her spare time, she contributes to the Center for Internet Security’s Critical Security Controls project and the AuditScripts Open Source Threat Model project.
