Many entrepreneurs view capital-raising as a necessary element of their business plan; however, proper legal planning is necessary to ensure that your business is most attractive to potential investors. Peter’s presentation will cover common strategies used to raise capital, as well as provide an overview of key deal points to be aware of. Peter will also highlight legal and regulatory considerations that every business taking on capital should be aware of, including recent changes promulgated under the JOBS Act.
Peter Nealis is a partner with Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, a full service law firm. Peter has substantial experience representing both public and private companies and investors in a variety of securities, regulatory, and corporate governance matters. A large part of Peter’s practice consists of the representation of start-ups and emerging growth companies, including in their initial capital raising ventures and subsequent private placements. Peter also has substantial experience in the area of partnership and limited liability company formation and governance, as well as related tax issues.
