Network & Learn with Lee Jones – Focus & Productivity in the Age of Distraction

In the Age of the Internet, technology experts and business stakeholders express concern about the always-on connection to people and information and whether or not it yields a net positive or a net negative result. Many people in our hyperconnected world count on the internet as their external brain and expect it to make them more nimble, quick-acting multitaskers. But is this true?
Lee Jones comes to Station 2 Innovation to discuss, “Focus & Productivity in the Age of Distraction.” Engage with him and learn insights and practical methods to ward off the “distraction monkey” and get more done. The potential impact of technology on productivity is huge in both the positive and negative sense and should be approached sensibly to get the most out of it. Lee plans to cover the myth of multitasking, the art of mindfulness, understanding the causes of and how to properly manage stress and anxiety, and how to get more done in less time while feeling great.
Lee Jones is a software development generalist with a strong skill set ranging from programming embedded device drivers to scalable web architecture. Born in Sutton Coldfield, England, Lee was interested in technology from a very young age. Shortly after moving to America at age 12, he bought his first computer. Inspired by the possibilities computers presentment, he taught himself to write programs. By age 15 he was writing software professionally and has since gained fluency in over 12 different programming languages.
Lee currently leads Clear Idea Labs, a Lean Startup focused custom software development company specializing in mobile and web based solutions. Clear Idea has worked with the who’s who of America’s technology giants including Motorola, Computer Associates and Adobe . He spends most of his time working on iOS and Ruby on Rails projects delivering cutting edge solutions for technology-based startups with detours into well designed PHP projects.
